5 Ways to use Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil is an amazing natural product with so many uses!

I cannot live without the incredible COCONUT OIL. I personally use it for most of my beauty & health needs and it has so many uses, here’s some ways I use it…

Homemade Exfoliator
I LOVE this! You never buy a shop bought exfoliator again…I use coconut oil mixed with a little sugar to create a facial scrub which leaves you glowing and super moisturised.

1 tea spoon of equal parts is plenty for the face, or to make a deep body scrub use rock salt (1 tablespoons of equal parts again is enough for a full body, go easy though, as it can be a little rough on sensitive skin).

Make up Brushes & Hairbrush Cleaner
Yes..it really does work, and well! Over my many years doing make up I’ve used all types of brush cleaners, and nothing quite leaves them as fresh and well kept as coconut oil.

Pop your brushes in to warm water for 10 minutes, coat in a light covering of coconut oil, massage it thorough the brushes and rinse through throughly using lukewarm water.

Leave to air dry over night on clean tissue and by the morning your have super fresh brushes! Ta dahh!

Sunburn/heat rash Relief
For the first time this summer I got sunburnt and had the combination of heat rash on top – lovely! – wow, the pain!!

After coming back from holiday and using some over the counter remedies abroad, I was still in alot pain! So, after a cool shower I decided to lap myself in coconut oil as I was beginning to peel – NIGHTMARE.

After working up a good tan I wasn’t about to just let it peel away (lol!) and the relief was pretty instant – from the itching to pain – my tan lasted longer than usual and the sunburn healed nicely – win win girls!

Lip balm
Dry cracked lips?! Popping a little coconut oil over the lips before make up/lipstick application will keep those lips hydrated this winter.

Make sure you blot after you apply it if you want a matt lip, I decant some into a little travel pot and top up during the day in winter.

Lastly – to all the mummy’s out there…

Nappy rash/sore teething cheeks and moisturiser
When I had my little boy I remember being overwhelmed by all the baby products on the market at the time.

Sore teething cheeks was one of the things my little boy really struggled with, and nothing worked on him as well as a very thin layer of coconut oil popped on his little sore hot read cheeks than this did – this worked especially well over night!

I hope this helps, ladies…
